“In my role as a Vehicle Mechanic, I work on everything from heavily armoured vehicles to lighter platforms like Land Rovers and MAN trucks. No two days are the same — one day I’m carrying out routine servicing, the next I’m fault finding or tackling more technical mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues.
I’ve had brilliant opportunities to develop my skills through specialist courses, and the flexible working really supports my family life. What makes the job even better is the team — supportive, knowledgeable, and great to be around, with chances for extras like overseas training or on call work. It’s a role that gives me variety, growth and balance, and I can honestly say I enjoy what I do.”
Leon, Vehicle Mechanic
